I remember that on our last Halloween with her we had school off, and we went to Sunrise to go Trick-or-Treating in the halls. I made Mama Kix a cookie with a smily face that had green hair. I had a lot of fun that day! |

Whenever I look at my shell bird tree, I remember my Grandma, "Mama Kix." I miss her. |

To
my dear Aunt Betty. I shall miss you so. I have such fond memories
growing up and all the wonderful times I had at your house for the
holidays and such. As I got older, you were like a second mother to me
and a very good friend. I enjoyed our times together and all that we
shared. I shall miss you, but now you will be happy and free, on to
bigger and better things and will be with all those you have loved. |

I've
lost my "Second Mom"...that is who Mrs. Kix has been to me my whole
life. Whenever I was in need of a Mom to give a hug, kiss a scraped
knee, answer a cooking question and my Mom, one of Mrs. Kix's oldest
and dearest friends, was not available, it was Betty I would go to.
Words can not express how wonderful a person she was. I will always
have her in my heart. I will find comfort knowing she is not in pain,
can dance if she wants and hear the birds sing. |
